    Mary, Newby Hall to Amabel, Putney Heath Discusses a letter she received from Tom, who is currently travelling in Italy, commenting, "Venice did not answer his expectations, and the Gondolas he thought tiresome conveyances and that Bologna has been pillaged of much of its treasures of Pictures". He also mentions he has accepted an offer from Lady Malmesbury of a subscription to her private box at Drury Lane. Mentions the Countess visited, and proceeded to Bath. She hopes to secure chambers at the Temple for Frederick, she comments, "Study I quite give up, in that profession, but it will give a better appearance than living in a Lodging".
