Mary, Newby Hall to Amabel, Wrest Park Frederick has returned to school, and Tom is disappointed as lectures start immediately on his return to college. She has found his conduct at home satisfactory. He has been occupied with the Keeper in measuring the drains from the house, which require attention. He is also going to make a kennel for his pointers out of an old pigeon house. Pleased Charles Yorke agrees with her sentiments on Irish affairs.
