'You will probably have heard of the meeting on the 19th of June when it was decided to close the St.Andrew's Mothers' Union Branch. This was to enable a series of home meetings to be planned beginning in the Autumn together with occasional evening celebrations of Holy Communion followed by a meeting for all in the Church Hall. At the same time, a need was expressed for an evangelistic organisation for women in the Parish and a committee was appointed at the above meeting to deal with this. It was stressed, however, that membership of the Mothers' Union is for life, and it is hoped that members will continued to promote Mothers' Union aims and objects. It is also hoped that members will become Diocesan members, in which case I would like to stress the importance of completing and returning to Mrs. Trillo the slip at the bottom of her letter'.
