- TitleFitzherbert, Paris to Grantham, London (private) Encloses a copy of a letter sent to the Dutch Plenipotentiaries and the original of their answer during the discussion of the first article of their memorial. Notwithstanding the complaint of M. de Brantsen's , there "does not subsist the most trifling personal animosity between that Minister and myself". Does not believe Brantsen has knowledge of the "oblique overture" made by M. de Vergennes to Fitzherbert regarding the sacrifice of some other Dutch possession to save Trincomale'.
