De Castries threatens to issue the King of France's orders for reprisals upon Grenada on the supposition that the claim of the French proprietors of effects taken on shore at St. Eustatia would not be attended to. Grantham hopes his letter to Walpole will suspend the action de Castries is contemplating. Fitzherbert is to inform Vergennes of what has passed and how such an action will affect attempts at reconciliation.
