  • Title
Grantham, St. James's to Wroughton (No 9, draft) The King approves of the steps taken by Wroughton on the "several Instances of Outrage and Violence" commited by Dutch Ships on those of Britain. (Marked 'Cypher') Grantham has good reason to think that the Czarina suspects France could influence the King of Sweden in taking some part against her in case of war with the Porte, which seems likely to take place. The French navy is likely to draw great quantities of copper from Sweden and mills for working it are already erected in France. (end of cypher). The King is "touched by the very friendly Expressions" used by the King of Sweden with regard to the reception Prince Frederick would receive should his travels lead him there. Wroughton is to convey these sentiments to the Court.
