- TitleGrantham, St. James's to Wroughton, Stockholm (No 6, draft) Relates to a violation of Swedish waters by the Dutch. Encloses (not present) details which were sent to Grantham by the British Minister at Copenhagen and the British Consul at Elsinore. The prisoners taken by the Dutch frigate may be already released. If not, Wroughton is to apply to the court of Sweden for that purpose. Wroughton is to represent the act as a "violation of all the laws which have been known time immemorial". The King of Sweden must see that unless such acts are checked the consequences will "introduce all the Mischiefs which the Neutral Powers are endeavouring to prevent". It is necessary to enforce these measures as the capture of a British vessel by the Dutch has happened. Eden and Wroughton to acquaint each other and Grantham on the impression such acts of violence make on both Courts.`
