Grantham, St. James's to Eden, Copenhagen (No 12, draft) Regarding the use made by the Dutch merchants of neutral flags, particularly that of Prussia. Eden to continue to keep a "watchful eye" to these practices and to learn whether the vessels using the Prussian eagle have Prussian passports and whether the passports are dated Potsdam or East Friseland. Eden is to procure a "Specific Account of one or more Vessels in this fraudulent predicament" so that Grantham may speak at Berlin with "precision". Grantham is sure His Prussian Majesty will, on proof of collusion, make checks of those who seek shelter for their traffic under borrowed flags.
