Grantham, St. James's to Keith and Harris (No 6 Copy) (Letter annotated depending on whether being sent to Keith or Harris). Harris and Keith are instructed to discover the intentions of the Empress/ Emperor on the subject of mediation and if their views conform to the expectation which the King has formed, they are to ask Her/His Imperial Majesty to send the necessary powers to their respective ambassadors at Paris for the purpose of intervening as mediator at the conclusion of the Definitive Treaty. Encloses a note on the subject which Grantham sent to the Imperial Ministers.
