The princess states that it is a great honour for her to be appointed. She hopes that her appointment will do justice to the Empire and that science will not be for domestic use only but will throw roots elsewhere. The Empress has a high regard for the Academy. The Secretary of the Acadamy responds that the sentiments of the princess fill the meeting with admiration and promises the academy many happy days and encourages them to put all their efforts into the career each one has chosen. He asks Princess Daskoff to thank the Empress.
