    - To wife Eliz. Carte £50; - to nephews Geo., John, Wm. and James Travell £5 each; - to niece Mary Gibbs and to Mary the wife of Wm. Morris of Shefford, ironmonger, and to Geo. Poulton who now lives with testator £100 each; - to much respected friends Joseph Morris of Ampthill, esq., and Wm. Parsons of Wootton Pillinge, yeo., trustees and exors., on trust: mess, cottages or tent. in Ampthill where testator lives on trust for wife for life, then to be sold; all freehold, copyhold messuages and land in Ampthill and elsewhere on trust to sell, with a proviso that nephew Thos. Gibbs, son of late sister Mary Gibbs, shall be offered several closes of pasture purchased of Pye and Geo. Farnell, cont. 8a., for £700. Out of money arising they are to pay to sister Eliz. Travell £5 p.a. for life; to niece Ann Forbes £4 p.a. for maintenance of her children. Residue to wife for life On wife's death the monies [excluding £100 on trust for Eliz. Travell, which on her death is to be divided among the children of her late sister Mary Gibbs and brother Humph. Carte] are to be divided as follows: - £80 bet. the three chn. of niece Ann Forbes; - reside among all the children of late sister Mary Gibbs and brother Humphrey Carte. The shares of neph. James Gibbs to neph. Thos. Gibbs for the use of his brother; of niece Mary dau. of brother Humph. Carte to be paid to sd. Humph. Carte, as she is non compos mentis; of niece Catherine Jackson one of chn. of sd. late sister Mary Gibbs to be paid to he personally notwihstanding her couverture.
