    Copy of Office Copy of Will of John Gale (probate 21 Nov 1818) Will (26 May 1818) - to his brother William Gale use of a bed and bedroom in the testator's house, known as Flower de Lis [Public House], Thurleigh and, if John Gale [son of testator], died before him, full rent and produce of cottage occupied by Roger Goss; - to his son John Gale, when he became 21, Flower de Lis Public House in Thurleigh with close of land, stable and barn etc. adjoining and two cottages in occupation of Roger Goss and John Darling; if John Goss died before 21, the public house, land and cottages to go to testator's wife, Mary Gale; - to his executors all his goods, chattels and livestock in trust; - to his wife Mary Gale all his goods, chattels and livestock for her life as long as she remained a widow or, if she remarried, until John Gale became 21and as long as she maintained and educated him, with power of sale for the executors if she breached the terms; - to Mary Gale as long as she remained a widow, the public house, land and cottages for life; - Benjamin Jefferies of Thurleigh, farmer and Edward Wildman of Thurleigh, farmer to be his executors; - witnessed by Thomas Davis, John Ward and William Peacock Codicil (16 Jul 1818): - to his executors in trust for sale a cottage in Hanslope [Buckinghamshire], with garden and grounds in occupation of William Whitbread, the money to be applied to paying off a mortgage on Flower de Lis; - to executors in trust, the rent of the cottage in hanslope, until sold, to be used for maintenance of his son, John Gale; - witnessed by Thomas Davis, Timothy Hawkes and Thomas Mecher
