- unconditional surrender of 27 Nov 1738 of Henry Randall of Newnham [Hertfordshire], weaver and Susannah his wife and Elizabeth, wife of William Squire of Stevenage, labourer to Mathew Penn of Stevenage, mealman, of each of their one seventh shares (making a total of two sevenths altogether) in cottage in Dead Street, otherwise Back Street, Hitchin, in occupation of Russell Penn opposite Beguin Lane between lands of Michael Jeeves on E and N, Back Street on W and lands of Michael Jeeves and George Lyle S;
- admission of Mathew Penn on 27 Nov 1738 to three sevenths of the cottage to be held for 40 years by custom of the manor
