Examination and confession of John Pepper. Went to barn on evening of Saturday 20 October to get a little wheat for his family. When he got there he found some boards loose. Got through and took about half a bushel (about 3s worth). Went again about 2 o'clock in the morning and was detected. witnessed by Stephen Cooper and James Peat
