  • Title
    Settlement. Parties (i) Simon Robinson and William Chapman, (trustee and gentleman), Biggleswade. (ii) Thomas Pateman, (yeoman), Langford. Operative Part Settlement of freehold and copyhold property, in consideration of 5 shillings a piece paid by (ii) to (i) and in consideration of the natural love and affection of Simon Robinson for his wife Elizabeth, his sons William, Thomas and John, and his daughter Elizabeth Corrall (wife of George Corrall, labourer, Hertford Town). Settlement is subject to the use of freehold property by his wife (Elizabeth) for the term of her natural life. After her decease, property as in Z 903/3/1/3 (a)-(c) is given for ever to the use of William Robinson (one of the sons of Simon Robinson). After decease of Simon Robinson and his wife Elizabeth property as in Z 903/3/1/3 (d) is given to the use of Thomas, John and Elizabeth, to be divided equally between them as tenants in common and not as joint tenants. Copyhold property within the Manor of Langford and the Manor of Holme with Langford to be surrendered, subject to its use by Elizabeth, wife of Simon Robinson. After her decease, a cottage and piece of land (containing by estimation .5 acres) in the Manor of Langford, is given to the use of William Robinson. A cottage with pightle of pasture ground and one rood of common field in the Manor of Holme with Langford, is given to the use of Elizabeth for the term of her natural life, on her decease to Simon Robinson and his wife Elizabeth, and on their decease to Thomas, John and Elizabeth Corrall for ever as tenants in common.
