    Information of William Rutt, Market Gardener of Langford. He was in the Crown, Langford when Henry Street Jun was in the House. Street took off his jacket and wanted to fight Rutt for 5/-. Rutt refused to fight. When Rutt left the Crown he stopped at Cousin's for a while. Street stilll wanted to fight Rutt but Rutt again refused. Street tried to get at Rutt but his father and others kept him away. When he got away from them he struck Rutt with his fist and knocked him to the ground. Information of George Rutt, cousin of the complainant. He saw Street come up the road and Rutt sitting on Mr Cousin's step. He begged Street to go home. He heard William Rutt say he did not want to fight. He did not see any blows struck. He said they were both on the ground together. Informaiton of William Cousins of Langford. He was sitting on his step when William Rutt came up and sat beside him. Street came up and wanted to fight but Rutt refused. Street's father and Cousins tried to keep Henry Street Junior back. Rutt got up and Street knocked him down. Information of George Brown of Langford. He heard a disturbance in the Taproom of his Inn and told them all to go. William Rutt was civil and quiet. Information of Julia Bates of Langford. She saw William Rutt and Street together outside Cousins. Rutt wanted to fight him in the morning for 5/-. She heard him say he would not fight that night. Information of Henry Street, defendant's father. He was in the Crown when his son and Rutt were there. They had some words but they went off peaceable. He followed his son. Rutt sat on Mr Counsins step and Henry asked him if he wanted to fight. Rutt said he didn't want to fight then but would fight him the next morning. Henry said he would fight that night. They had a round then Street asked his son to go home.
