    Information of Sophy Berrington, wife of Thomas Berrington, Bricklayer of Tempsford. Robert Chamberlain and his wife Hester came to their house and asked for a lamp bottom for which they had agreed to give 1/-. Her husband offered them 1/- and refused to give the lamp to them. Chamberlain tired to upset the lamp over her Berringtond. The lamp fell on the floor and was broken. Chamberlain picked up the bottom of the lamp and gave it to his wife and struck Sophy Berrington in the face with his right hand. Sophy Berrington told Mrs Chamberlain that she was 'a good for nothing woman'. Mrs Chamberalin then struck her on the head with the lamp bottom. The lamp bottom fell to the floor and Hester Chamberlain picked it up and hit Sophy Berrington again on the head with it. Sophy's daughter pushed Hester Chamberlain away. Her husband put Chamberlain out of his house but he forced Berrington on to the fence and held his throat. Berrington's daughter pulled him off.
