    Folio 106 - George Wythe of the parish of Our Blessed Lady in Steventon made 28 May pr. 15 June 1557. Soul to almighty God his maker and redeemer, to the glorious virgin Mary and all the blessed company of heaven to pray for him, and burial in church yard of Steventon. To mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to high altar of Steventon 4d.; to the bells 4d.. To son Richard 4 ½ acres of land of which 5 roods lie in Blackland; 1a. lies under Farley one head abutting on Farley Diche; 3r. lie in Litle Feild one head abutting against Margery Blossones hedge; one rood lies in Litell Feild one head abutting against Bromhame Crosse Leyes ; one rood lies in Foxe Brooke next the stone pit, with one head abutting against Peter Laurenc’ close; one acre lies beyond Moppeis Balke one head abutting against Pakesmeade Pece the other head abutting against Peter Taylors headland. These 4 ½ acres are charged with the payment every Good Friday of 12d. in bread to the poorest folk in Steventon. To maid Christiane Olyfere 2 ewes and 2 lambs and a weaning calf to be given her at Christmas next, and also Stawntes house to dwell in for the space of 2 years, if she marry an honest man, she paying the lord’s rent. To his daughter’s son Robert Pake a ewe and a lamb, and the same to his sister Elizabeth. To his shepherd Lawrenc’ a ewe lamb. To wife Agnes testator’s part of his lease of [?]Meygtn Pasture for his years, should she live so long, and if not, then son Richard to have it for remainder of term. To daughter Margery Blossome a ewe and a lamb. Residue to wife Agnes and son Richard, and they to be his executors. Witnesses testator’s ghostly father George Butman, Thomas Sythe, Richard Coxe and Thomas Coxe.
