    Folio 99d - Richard Keys of Bedford made 29 Mar. pr. 15 June 1557. “First I bequeth and gyve my soule into the mercifull handes of my lord god allmightie trustinge in his mercie to be clensed and washed throughe our lord Jesus Christe precius blood frome all synnes and full and holy belyvinge hopinge and desiringe to be a partaker of grace mercie and forgyvenes of all my synnes here while I lyve with the glorius Virgyne Mary all the holy patriarkes prophettes and Apostles and all the holy company and chesen people of God and my body I will to be buried within the churche yard of Sanct Paule in Bedford in full hope of Rysinge ageyne my soule to receave my body to be copled together to have Immortalitie and to enherite everlastinge joie and to be crowened with eternall glorie in his heavenly Kyngdom amongest his holy angellis and sanctes at the apperinge and commynge of our lord Jesus when he shall caule forthe all people owte of the graves and shall seperatt the good frome the bad the shepe frome the gootes and to sett the shepe that is to sey the fathfull people one his right hand to receave his blessinge which blessinge I truste to have amongest all sanctes in everlastinge Joie and glorie in heavenly Kyngdome” To wife Margret Keys the house where testator dwells and all the property he leases for the term of her life, and on her death the properties to descend to all his children then living, and the dwelling house is to be sold and the money to be divided among his six daughters or as many of them as are still alive. All his ware and the cloth in his shop to five of his daughters, that is to Elizabeth, Joane, Dorothy, Agnes and Syble, and they are to pay all debts as appear in his shop book, and the rest of the money from the remaining cloth to be divided amongst his five daughters. Any of them who dispute about her legacy is to lose any part of his bequests, and her share is to be divided among the other sisters. Daughters to obey their mother. Alis Keys his daughter to have a bond or obligation of John Lucas alias Carpender, shoemaker for money owed to testator. To his wife Marget Keyes all moveable goods except his shop, which has been bequeathed to his five daughters. To his father-in-law his best coat and all the money that is between him and testator. To his brother William his black gown. To his son Edmund Leache his new [cole....] gown furred with black cony , a black worsted jacket and a chamlet doublet. To his brother Thomas his chamlet jacket. To wife Margaret all the rest of his goods and she to be sole executrix. Supervisors to be William Godfelowe of Stagisten, testator’s brother Thomas Garland and Edmund Leache. Mr. William Goodfelowe to have a French crowne for his labour. Witnesses Edward Tailor vicar of Paul’s church, William Gerland, Edmund Leache and others. To wife Marget Keys and daughter Alis Keys the debt book to be divided between them.
