    Folio 96d - William Ford [of Bedford] made 28 May pr. 15 June 1557. Soul to God almighty, our blessed lady St. Mary and all the holy company of heaven, and burial in the church of St. Poules in Our Lady Chapell . To mother church of Lincoln 2d.. The house where testator lives with all appurtenances to wife Helyne, and also the house where Agnes Jonson lives and three other houses at testator’s yard’s end To Helyne also 5 acres of leys lying together by the Prebend Feild and also [?]sixteen acres of arable in the 3 fields in sundry places, to hold to her for her natural life, reversion to son Robert of Heyrne and to the lawful heirs of his body. Should Robert die without such lawful issue, then property to go youngest son William Ford and his issue, and should William die without issue then property to be equally divided between his four daughters Marget, Alis, Dorothy and Ellyne. To son and heir Robert a house in the parish of St. Peters Marten with a close in the parish of Clopham To son William Ford and his heirs two houses in the Hie Strett occupied by Alexander Hunt and by John Rainold the smith. To son John Ford £20 . To wife Hellyne [sum omitted] of good and lawful money. To son Robert £20. To son William Ford 20 marks. To daughter Alis Forthe £10. To daughter Dorothey £10. To daughter Hellyne £10. Should any daughter die before marriage, then their portion to be divided among the survivors. Should all three die before marriage, then their legacies to be divided among his sons.”Item to my brother Symond for the fortie shelinges. Item I will gyve and bequeath my horsse and the iiij bease equally to be devided”. Residue half to his wife and half to his children.
