Folio 95d - Edward Hunt of Chalverston in parish of Roxston, clerk, made 9 May pr. 15 June 1557. “I bequeth my soule to the Handes of allmightie god to our lady saint Mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in Roxston churche yard at the Chansell end where my father and my mother were buried”. To the church of Lincoln 2d.. To the high altar of Roxston 2d.. To brother Roger Hunt the frieze gown, his bow and shafts. To cousin Joane Hunt his best featherbed, a bolster, a pillow, a flaxen sheet, a harden sheet, and a coverlet. To cousin Roger Hunt his worsted jacket. To Richard Chessame his second featherbed, a bolster, a pillow, a flaxen sheet, and a harden sheet. To Joane Chessam, Robert Chessame and Richard Chessame all the stuff that came from Sheyngey that is at Chassames house except testator’s books and his nets. To Alice Chessane his thread gown. To godson Edward Chessame 2 doublets one of worsted and the other of linen. To William Chessame the coat that testator wears every day and a pair of russet hose. To godson Edward Cowper 6d.. To Edward’s wife the black hose and a pair of shoes. To godson Edward Harvey the doublet with the leather sleeves. His brother Roger Hunt and his cousin William Hunt are to sell his nets and his books to pay debts. To cousin Thomas Hunt his coffer at Alverston . To Chessame Foolkes the rest of his gowns, his cloak, hose , caps and shoes. Brother Roger Hunt and cousin William Hunt to be executors, Witnesses Harry Henry the elder, Thomas Dey.
