Folio 94d - Will of Robert Huckell of Carington [Cardington].

“I commende my soule unto allmightie god my maker and Redymer and my body to be buried in the parishe churchyard of Carington” To the high altar for tithes forgotten 12d.; to the upkeep of the bells 8d.; to the church of Lincoln 2d.; to the poor people in Carington on the day of his burial the sum of 20s.. To son George Huckell a cow to be given to him when he is 18 and a weaning calf. To daughter Margeret Huckell a bed and all that belongs to it, that is to say a mattress, a pair of sheets, a bolster, a pair of blankets, a covering, a bedstead and 20s. in money to be given to her at the discretion of his executors. To daughter Agnes Huckell five marks in money to be paid to her at the age of 18 years. To daughter Alis Huckell a bed and all that goes with it, that is to say a mattress, a pair of blankets, a bolster, a covering, a bedstead and 20s. in money to be given her at discretion of testator’s executors. To son Robert Huckell a cow and a yearling bullock, when he comes to the age of 18 years. To daughter Joane Huckell a bed and all that goes with the same, as the others have, and a brass pot to be given her at the age of 18 years. To Elizabeth Huckell the daughter of William Huckell the sum of 20s. to be given her at the age of 18 years. Should any child die before receiving their legacies, then their share to be divided among the remaining children. Son John is to have testator’s house in Fenlacke for four years rent free. To wife Agnes Huckell all his lands, meadows, pastures and tenements in parish of Carington, Fenlake, Haradon and Estottes, and on wife’s death, these to go to testator’s eldest son John Huckell. The house that Kysbey dwells in to go to son George Huckell and his issue after the death of testator’s wife. Wife to sell testator’s [?grain] to pay his debts. To John Smythe for his pains taking 20s.. Residue to Agnes Huckell his wife and sole executrix, with supervisors John Huckell and John Smythe. To sir John Stanley curate of the church for his pains taking 12d.. Witnesses sir John Stanley, John Smythe, John Toche with others, . Should John die without male heirs, then properties to go to George and his heirs male, and in default of heirs male to descend to Robert and his heirs male.
