    Folio 70d - Thomas Hebbes of Tillisworthe, husbandman, made 3 Apr. pr. 14 May 1557. Soul to almighty God, our lady St. Mary and the holy company of heaven, and burial in churchyard of Tillisworth. To the high altar in Tillisworthe for tithes forgotten a bushel of barley. To the mother church of Lincoln 2d.. To the mending of the highways one days work with his cart. His mother to have her keeping for as long as she abides with testator’s wife, and if she will not abide there and cannot agree with the wife, then wife to pay his mother £6 13s. 4d. and mother to go where she thinks best. To John Hebbes his son 12 quarters of barley, and £6 13s 4d in money. To Harry Hebbs 10 quarters of barley and £6 13s. 4d. in money. To daughter Elizabeth Hebbes 10 quarters of barley and £6 13s. 4d. in money To his son Thomas Hebbes 4 quarters of barley and to son Thomas’ wife, Margery Hebbes, 2 quarters of barley. Wife to pay legacies within one year, and if that not possible, within 2 years of his death. To son Richard Hebbes a quarter of malt. To son Robert Hebbes a quarter of malt. To daughter Agnes Weste a quarter of malt. To daughter Joane Jonsone one quarter of malt. To every grandchild a ewe and a lamb. To every godchild 2d.. He wishes that dole be paid to everyone who comes on the day of his burial. Residue to wife Joane, who is executrix, and she to dispose for testator’s soul and all Christian souls, and the overseer is to be testator’s uncle Richard Webbe of Howghton, and he to have 3s. 4d.. Witnesses sir Richard Hadson, curate of Stambridge, Thomas Crockes, Thomas Carter, John Latham.
