Soul to almighty God his maker and Jesus Christ his redeemer “and saviour thorough the merites of his bitter passion trusting to be the child of adoption and salvation by our Blessed Ladye sainct Marye to all the holy and sanctified Company of heaven”. Burial in churchyard of Stotfold. Wife Cycelye and brother Harrye Jockfild of Baldock to be executors, but should brother Harry Jockfeld refuse the office, then wife to be sole executrix and his brother James [?]Fathat to be supervisor. To mother church of Lincoln 12d.; to the high altar of Stotfold for tithes forgotten a bushel of wheat, and at testator’s burial wife is to give relief to the poor. To wife and son Thomas all his lands, meadows, houses and copyholdings to her use for son’s bringing up until the age of 21, and also to bring up daughter Christian until the age of 21. Son Thomas then to enter on his properties, and wife to have half when son comes of age. Half his cattle and his moveables to be used for the bringing up of his daughter. Each of his children to have a bullock. Should a child die, each to be heir of the other. Each year son Thomas to have a review of stock at the discretion of his mother and of Harry [?]Stockfeld the overseer of the will. Should wife remarry her husband to be bound in £40 to testator’s friends neither to sell or cause to be sold any parcel of testator’s property and to make no waste. To his daughter Christian £6 13s. 4d. on the day of her marriage. Witnesses sir William Tyby vicar, James Sallet, Christopher [?]Houghton, S.Tylotes, Edward Noris.
