  • Title
    Folio 59d - William Day/Daye of Harlington, husbandman, made 1 Mar. 1556/7, pr. 8 Apr. 1557. Soul to almighty God, the blessed lady St. Mary and to all the holy company of heaven, and burial in Harlington churchyard at direction of his executor. To the high altar for tithes forgotten 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.. Wife Elizabeth is to have his freehold land and the copyhold land which testator holds of my lord Warden in the parish of Westening until she is delivered of the child she goes with. The property to go to the same child at the age of 24, but if the child does not live then the copyhold land to remain with wife Elizabeth according to the custom of the manor of Younges (in Westoning). To his brother Thomas Day two ox bullocks and half a dozen sheep, 46s. 8d. and 6 sheep. To brother 2 quarters of rye after the harvest, and to every godchild 6d.. All moveable goods to wife Elizabeth and she to be executrix and testator’s father in law to be executor. Witnesses John Spicer alias Helder, Symon Morten, Thomas Huckell, William Gylbey, Margaret Huckell and others.
