    Folio 28d - Thomas Frelove of Stepingley made 3 May 1556 pr. day and year as above (presumably 8 Oct. 1556). “First I gyve and bequeth my sowle to almightye god our blessid Ladye saint Marye and to all the holly company of heavin” and burial in churchyard of Stepingley. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.. Wife Agnes is to have the house where testator lives for her lifetime and after her death then the house to go to testator’s son William, and should William sell the house, then he is to give to his brothers John, Thomas and William 40s.. To son John Frelove and to his children 4 ewes and 4 lambs and 2 roods of wheat and rye. To son William Frelove one ewe and a lamb. To Alis Hide a ewe and a lamb.. To son Thomas Frelove a heifer and an acre of rye. To son Richard Frelove a bullock and an acre of rye. To the church of Stepingley 8d.. Remainder to wife Agnes Frelove and son Thomas Frelove. Sons John and Thomas Frelove to be executors and “they dispose for my sowle and all Christian sowles as they shall thinke best to please god and profit my sowle” with the counsel and advice of Roger Maye the parson of Stepingley. Witnesses testator’s son William Frelove, John Watson.
