    Folio 26d - William Mylward of Maldon, husbandman, made and proved 8 Nov. [sic] 1556. “ I bequeth my soule to almighty god our blessyd Ladye and to all the holly company of heaven” and body to be buried in the churchyard of Maldoon. To the high altar there 12d.; to the bells 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.. To son William the youngest steers “that drawe”. To daughter Alis a cow and a quarter of rye, 6 sheep and such household stuff as her mother shall think convenient. To son Edward 6 sheep, a cow and a quarter of rye. To son Richard 2 acres of land and mede in Gravenhurst Field and 6 sheep. To daughter Jhoan a cow and three sheep. To daughter Agnes the white one year old bullock and three sheep. To son Edmund a year old store bullock and 3 sheep. To every unmarried child 5s. in money. To daughter Margeret a quarter of rye. To be given to poor people on the day of his burial 20 dozen of bread. Residue to wife Agnes, with the lease of his house as long as she remains unmarried, and if it should chance that Jhoan [sic] his wife should remarry, then son William to have testator’s farm after the death of his mother. Should son William die before his mother, then son Edward to have the farm. To wife Agnes the lease of Chappelles and she to give this to whichever of his children she chooses.
