- TitleFolio 13 - Robert Paulle of Woootton yeoman made 17 July 1556 pr. 24 July 1556. “I bequeth my soule to allmightye god my saviour and redemer” and burial in the middle aise within the parish church of Wootton. To the mending of [?] Wilkin bridge 20d., and to be given to the poor people of Wootton 6s. 8d.. To eldest son John Paul 4 horses and his best “showed” cart, best iron spit, best brass pot and best brass pan, best chest, a pair of sheets of the largest sort, and 4 harnesses for the 4 horses, all the above to be given to him on the day of his marriage. To youngest son John Paul. £12 to be given him at the time of his marriage, also a cow and a bullock and 10 sheep at the same time. To one of his daughters Agnes Paule £5, a cow, a bullock, two pair of sheets, and 6 sheep. To daughter Elisabeth Paulle £5 , a cow, a bullock, 6 sheep and 2 pair of sheets. To daughter Joan Paulle £5, a cow, a bullock, 6 sheep and 2 pair of sheets. To youngest daughter Joan Paulle £5, a cow, a bullock, 6 sheep and 2 pair of sheets, all to get their legacies on their marriage day, or at the age of 21, the legacies of any dying before their marriage day or age of 21 to be divided between the survivors. To his daughter by his first wife, Aliz’ [?]Liscete 6 sheep. To Robert Borne son of William Born’ a ewe and a lamb. To Andrew Liscot , his daughter’s son, a cow with a year old bullock; to Margery the wife of John Pre a ewe and a lamb. To every godchild 4d.. Residue to wife Margeri Paule, who with William Born of Wootton are executors, the latter to have 3s. 4d.. As regards all his lands, he has enfeoffed them to William Borne, William Wheler and John Worsley in a deed dated 8 July 2 & 3 Philip and Mary. His executors are to receive the rents to perform his will and bring up his children until his heirs named in the feoffment are of the full age of 21. Wife Margeri to have the keeping of the one part of the said indenture and William Borne the custody of the other part.
