    Folio 11d - Cuthbert Jenkins of Byllyndon in Layghton Bussard made 8 May pr. 18 May 1554. “I bequeth my sowlle to allmightye god desyryng of hyme mersy and forgyvenes of all my synes trustyng by the shedyng of his blod and merites of his pation I have and shall have remission of all my synnes”. To the high altar in Layton 4d.. To son William Jenkins testator’s dwelling house in Great Byllingdon and also his house at Eyton with all the appurtenances, but wife Alis is to have half the profits of them both, and of all that belongs to them, for the term of her life, and on her death these revert to son William and his heirs, he paying to Agnes Prentyse and to Elizabeth Pitkin 40s. out of both houses within four years of his mother’s death. Should William die without issue then Agnes Prentyse to have the house at Bilington to her and her heirs, and Elyzabeth Pitkin and her heirs the house at Eyton. To testator’s sister Johan’ Sade 6s. 8d. a year charged on the house at Eyton to be paid quarterly during her life at 20d. a quarter. Executors wife Alis and Robert Prentise, he to have 3s. 4d., and son William to be supervisor to whom 3s. 4d.. Witnesses Master Thomas Goodge vicar of Leighton, sir Philip Hyll curate of Byllington, William Tomson’ clerk of Leyghton.
