Statement from Nehemiah Smith, Principal Teacher of the Biggleswade Boys Board School that Edward Albone did not attend school on 19 April 1877 and that he had only made 5 attendances during the 8 weeks in which the school had been open previous to the 21 April 1877. Request of George Mosely, School Attendance Inspector for Biggleswade, at Arlesey that Thomas Albone of Cowfair Lands, Biggleswade, parent of Edward Albone, be summoned to appear before the Justices of the Peace. George Moseley swore that he knew the parents pleaded poverty but could not say if had told them that they could get the fees remitted or apply to the Guardians.
