Report of George Bygrave, Porter and Arlesey Siding Railway Station. He saw a man lying down just outside the railway gates on the highway. He was drunk and using very bad language. Bygrave asked him to go away but the man wanted to fight him. He struck at Bygrave and James Barnes came up and told to stop. he struck at Barnes. Bygrave went back to his work and later saw the man come through the railway gate and walk onto the line. The signalman left his box and held the man as a train was near. The man was put out of the railway again and the police were sent for. PC Robert King Stearn went to Arlesy Siding and saw James Carter lying in the Brick Ground Hotel yard, very drunk. PC Stearn picked him up and took him to the police station. Fine 2/-. Witness 7/-. Costs 6/-
