Letter from Andrew Tanqueray, manager of Morris & Company (Ampthill) Limited of Ampthill, Beds to Frederic Thomas Tanqueray… ‘please prepare a draft lease for letting the Brewery Garden and Greenhouse thereon, for a term of five years from September 29th instant, from the Company to William Folkes, of Dunstable St, Ampthill. The rent has been arranged at £15. per annum, the Brewery to put the Greenhouse in reasonable repair, and the tenant to agree to Thoroughly paint the Greenhouse once and keep in repair during the term of the Lease. We have agreed to make a schedule of the fruit trees now standing, and to take over, at the end of the term, any trees that the tenant may plant, at valuation. The Brewery garden might be described as containing ½ an acre more or less, bounded by walls on the North, East and West and by a fence on the South’.
