Copy affidavit of Leonard Foster of Flitwick, Beds, architect and surveyor concerning the said case: - They [plaintiffs] always told me that they had arranged to do the work in a low rate in consideration of the Friendship with the Defendant but I do not reckon that the figures are calculated at a low rate; - on the grounds stated above I Verily believe that the Defendant has a good defence to the Action on the merits in respect of any sum over and above the said sum of £55.
