- TitleLetter from Leonard Foster of Flitwick, Beds, surveyor to C.H.Wynne… ‘I have been very carefully into the details of the charges for all the work, and although my figures differ from theirs at all the properties, the total valuation works out very close to their original account viz: £175-14-6. This amount shows a good working profit to them but it is not at all excessive, and I quite think if it was taken to Court, they would be able to recover the whole. The charge of £10 for girder &c is high, but as that was a verbal quotation I cannot touch it, the remainder of the charges for work done in the house are reasonable. I have not heard from you as to your contra account for hospitality, but if you could let me have that on Saturday morning, I promise to come over about 11.30 & see you and afterwards Messrs C.&S. and make them an offer of say £17- less your account to settle. I should be pleased to know if you agree to this’.
