Deed of covenant to surrender Parties: (i) John West of Aspley, Beds, farmer and William West late of Grays Inn [London] but now of Northampton, gentleman; (ii) said John West; (iii) John, Duke of Bedford. Reciting: - R6/63/17/12; - will and codicil of Elizabeth Ingle of Woburn, Beds (see R6/63/17/13); - Elizabeth Ingle has since deceased; - administration of her estate was granted to her nephew William West on the 25th Nov 1808 at the prerogative Court of Canterbury; - legal estate of inheritance in (a) is now vested in (ii)… ‘as the only son and heir at law of Charles West late of Aspley aforesaid farmer who was the eldest brother and heir at law of the said Elizabeth Ingle heretofore called Elizabeth West’; - since her decease, no admission to (a) has been taken by (ii); Operative: - in consideration of £160 (i) covenants to surrender (a) to (iii); Property: (a) see description at R6/63/17/10. Habendum: - unto and to the use of (iii). - signed by (i); - witnessed and signed by William Platt and Samuel Davis.
