Copy probate of the will of Thomas Gale, late of Ampthill, Beds, brazier: Giving, devising and bequeathing: - The Three Compasses, Ampthill lately in my occupation and another cottage in Ampthill purchased from William Bigg unto my son Thomas Gale subject to the payment of £100 to my seven daughters: Ann, Christmas, Sarah, Elizabeth, Patsy, Maria, Mary and Frances; - £40 unto son Thomas Gale; - residue of all real and personal estate in Bedfordshire and the United Kingdom unto son in law John Palmer of Greenfield, Beds, yeoman and John Bolding of Ampthill, surgeon upon trust to sell, invest and pay proceeds to wife Elizabeth Gale for her natural life, after to the said seven children; - appointing John Palmer and John Bolding as executors; - witnessed by Elizabeth Travell, John Peasgood and Samuel Davis, junior; - will dated 12th Oct 1792 - proved on the 9th Oct 1793
