Letter from M.J.Osbourne Day of 95 & 96 St.Aldate’s, Oxford to Mr. Tanqueray… ‘I quite understand that you are advancing it [£50 cheque] on my reversionary interest in my grandfather’s estate. Miss Cutler wanted my rent, particularly to day, I have been to her to pay it this evening. Mrs. Day keeps writing to us to send her notes of hand for that money, but I shall sign no more, and have told her so. I am surprised James has not paid you the £25 yet it really is too bad of him’.
