  • Title
Letter: the Rev. James Geldart, Podington Vicarage, to Q.A.B. In 1849 Mr. Rich. Orlebar the patron conveyed a house to his inadequately endowed living, as a residence for the vicar. Previously there was no residence fit for the clergyman, but there was an old house adj. the house conveyed for a vicarage house which had for many years been occupied as a farm house by the tenant of the 150a. of glebe land. Since the farm house and premises have become dilapidated, and are a long way from the land, they are being taken down and a new farm house built on the land. The site of the old house is being thrown into the viarage grounds. Cost of all above works approx. £500, and asks for help.
