Memorandum of agreement between Thomas Berry on behalf of Solomon Fountain of Buckland [Buckinghamshire] and John Farey on behalf of the Duke of Bedford… 'The said Solomon Fountain has agreed and sold to the said Duke all his estate consisting of houses & land, both freehold and copyhold situate in the parish of Woburn in the county of Bedford together with the timber standing thereon, and all buildings thereon the property of the said Solomon Fountain for the sum of fifteen hundred guineas, to be paid by the said Duke to the said Solomon Fountain on or before the 24th day of June next ensuing, a good title being made to the same by and at the expense of the said Solomon Fountain, and the conveyance of the same to be at the said Duke's expense'. - signed by Thomas Berry and J.
