- TitleOccurrence Report of Police Sergeant Samuel Branston, stationed at Biggleswade. He had been instructed by Superintendent Bedlow to inform all the pople how had stalls or booths on the highway that they would not be allowed to stand only one day. On Saturday SErgeant Branston and Superintendent bedlow went again and told John Rust and others they would be summonsed if they did not remove their stalls and booths from the highway. Several moved away but John Rust refused to move. This was on Saturday, Biggleswade Market Day was on Wednesday. Deposition of Edward Twelvetrees, toll agent for the owner of the tolls. He states that he had known of the statute, or fair, for 40 years and it had always been for two days. He knew the spot wher Rust's booth stood - there were 2 yards of footpath and 6 yards of roadway left open. He had known the roadway to be completely blocked.
