- TitleInformation of John Kirkham, Farmer of Everton. He had made a written agreement with John Watson who should work for him as Head Housekeeper on the farm for 12 months. Watson was sent to Potton Station with a wagon and 3 horses and a load of potatoes. A boy with another horse and cart was sent with him. When he did not return John Kirkham went to look for him and found the horses and wagon standing at the door of the Eagle Public House. Watson was drunk and the boy was the worse for drink. Watson refused to come out. The next day Watson was sent to Potton station again. He returned 4 and a half hours later and left the horses in the high road and went to the public house.
