Notice in bankruptcy of Henry James Dytham of Greenhill Farm, Eddington, dairy farmer (No.25 of 1910 in the County Court of Kent, holden at Canterbury). Including: - First meeting of creditors to be held on the 18th Jun 1910. - Public examination of the debtor is fixed for 30th Jun 1910. - Summary of Debtor's statement of affairs. - Causes of failure as stated by the debtor… 'Bad trade and want of capitol'. - The Official Receiver's observations… '1.The Receiving Order was made on the petition of the Debtor, who was adjudged bankrupt the same day on his own application. 2. The debtor (aged 35 years) states that up to two years ago he followed the occupation of a Journeyman Butcher. He then commenced business on his own account as a Dairyman at College Farm, Deal, but after being at those premises three months they were sold and the Debtor removed to Washburn, Cannon Street, Deal. He states he had no capital of his own when he started business, but was financed from time to time by his Father-in-law, in addition to which he hired cows on different occasions. He alleges that his business was successful, although subsequently the premises were condemned by the Sanitary Authorities, and he then removed to Greenhill Farm, Eddington. In order to take this latter mentioned Farm he states he was further assisted financially by his Father-in-law. It is alleged that the business at these latter premises has just yielded a living, although apparently the Debtor was unable to pay his accounts as they became due, as at the date of the Receiving Order Judgement had been obtained against him and execution levied on his effects. It appears also that other Creditors were pressing the Debtor for payment shortly before the Bankruptcy proceedings. He has not kept a cash book or any record of all his receipts and payments. He admits, however, that he discovered his insolvency at the beginning of the present year. 3. With the exception of a loan of £75 in May 1909, by a relative, all the debts appear to be usual trade and domestic debts contracted within the last 15 months, but mostly during the present year'.
