    Marriage Settlement Parties: (i) Arthur Grimsagh Cecil Grimshawe of Goldington Grange, Beds, esquire. (ii) Mabel Irene Elin of Leahoe in the town of Hertford, spinster. (iii) Emily Mary Grimshawe of Goldington Grange, widow of the late Charles Livius Grimshawe, esquire. (iv) George Elin of Leohoe, Hertford, esquire. (v) Arthur Knox Lindsell of Biggleswade, Beds, banker; Eustace Bolton Lorraine Bevan of Glanside, Woburn Sands, Beds, a captain in her majesty's army; William Allen Elin and George Herbert Augustus Elin, both of Leahoe, Hertford, esquires. Reciting: - Settlement dated 7th Feb 1866 between (1) Charles Livius Grimshawe and (iii) his wife (2) Salisbury Gillies Payne and Henry Robert Vaughan Johnson whereby it was declared that (2) shall stand possessed of £2000 London and South Western Railway Stock and £8500 Great Western Railway 4 ½ per cent debenture stock with all interest, profits etc. in trust for the issues of (1). - There were four issues of (1): Charles Bartram Fitz Payne Grimshawe who died before the above indenture; Edmund Salisbury Vaughan Grimshawe their eldest surviving son; Emily Geraldine Effie now the wife of Henry John Connant and (i). - Deed Poll dated 31st May 1883 whereby Charles Livius Grimshawe and (iii) exercised the power of appointment reserved to them in the said settlement dated 7th Feb 1866 in favour of (i) and his children. - Indenture dated 25th Oct 1886 between (1) Charles Livius Grimshawe (2) Edmund Salisbury Vaughan Grimshawe (3) Sir Salisbury Gillies Payne, Henry Holden Steward and Herbert George Salisbury Hughes whereby it was declared that the trustees should, after the death of (1) stand possessed of a trust fund of £30,000 in trust for (2) for his life and after to his children; if no children upon trust for (i) and his children. - Charles Livius Grimshawe died on the 1st Apr 1887. - Deed poll dated 8th Oct 1890 whereby (iii) revoked an appointment in favour of (i) and his children and appointed that the said sums of £2000 London and South Western Railway Stock and £8500 Great Western Railway 4 ½ per cent debenture stock should after her death be held in trust for (i). - Edmund Salisbury Vaughan Grimshawe is still living. - Settlement dated 8th Apr 1872 between (1) John Bloxam Elin (2) John Bloxam Elin, Alexander Glen and Thomas Willliam Bischoff whereby it was declared that (2) should stand possessed of certain stocks and securities upon trust to pay income from the trust premises to (1) during his life, after to pay 1/3rd equal parts to the three sons of (1): John, George & Frederick Elin and their children upon certain conditions. - Deed Poll dated 8th Oct 1872 whereby John Bloxham Elin revoked the 1/3rd equal payment from the trust property to Frederick in favour of his children. - John Bloxham Elin died on the 14th Oct 1873. - Frederic Elin had died since the deed poll dated 8th Oct 1872 and left four living children. - John Elin is still living and has only three children now surviving. - There are ten children living of George Elin, (ii) is one of these children and has attained the age of 21. - Intended marriage between (i) & (ii). Operative: In consideration of the said marriage: - (i) assigns the several sums of stock recited in the settlement dated 7th Feb 1866 (trust premises) unto (v) (subject to the interest of (iii)) in trust for (i) until the marriage; afterwards to pay income to (i) during his life; after to (ii); after decease of survivor to any issue of the said marriage (subject to all foregoing trusts); then upon trust for Emily Geraldine Effie Conant for life; after decease to her children. - Above is subject to the payment of £300 out of income to (ii) during her life. - (ii) assigns 1/17th share she is entitled under the settlement dated 8th Apr 1872 unto (v) (subject to the trusts contained in the said settlement) upon trust for (iii) until the marriage; after to pay annual income to (iii) during her life; after to (i); after decease of survivor to any children of intended marriage. Covenants: - If any children of the intended marriage are under 16 years of age when (iii) dies and (i) & (iii) remain of protestant faith, (ii) covenants to make the following yearly payments: £500 to (i) during the joint lives of (i) & (ii), after decease, £200 to the survivor; £100 to the children of the said marriage; If (i) becomes entitled in possession to his life interest in the trust fund then the above yearly payment to (i) or (ii) shall be void; If (i) shall leave any issue by (ii) after his decease, all income of the trust fund shall be paid to (ii), if no issue £300 to (ii) as long as she remains widow of (i). - (iv) to pay £100 to (ii) during their joint lives and until her share, estate and interest under the settlement dated 8th Apr 1872 falls into her possession; if (ii) dies in the lifetime of (iv) and John Elin a yearly payment of £200 is to be paid to (i). - If no children are living with a vested interest in the trust property, it is lawful for the survivor of (i) or (ii) to withdraw the present settlement in favour of a future husband, wife or children and appoint new trustees. - Powers to appoint new trustees or a new trustee in place of Arthur Know Lindsell and Eustace Bolton Lorraine Bevan is vested in (iii), after her decease in (i) & (ii). - Powers to appoint new trustees or a new trustee in place of William Allen Elin and George Herbert Augustus Elin is vested in (i) & (ii). - Signed by (i), (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v). - Witnessed and signed by J.A. Farrer of 66 Lincolns Inn Fields, London, gentleman. Endorsement: Appointment of new trustee dated 22nd Feb 1895. Parties: (1) (iii) (2) (i) & (ii), now married. (3) Sir Charles Robert Salisbury Payne, baronet of Blunham House, Beds now residing at 4 Alfred Place, London, SW and Arthur Lucas of Woburn, Beds, esquire. (4) Arthur Knox Lindsell and George Herbert Augustus Elin. (5) Arthur Knox Lindsell, George Herbert Augustus Elin, Sir Charles Robert Salisbury Payne and Arthur Lucas. Reciting: - Intended marriage of (2) took place on the 9th Oct 1890. - Eustace Bolton Lorraine Bevan died on the 3rd Apr 1894 and William Allen Elin is desirous of being discharged from his duties concerning the above settlement.
