Jane Stanbridge went to the Wheatsheaf Public House and found her husband there with his son. A woman said you have come then. Jane went home followed by her husband. She asked hime what the woman meant and he started to hit her. She was bruised all over. Joseph Cole had known the Samuel Stanbridge for 17 years and said he was a quiet man. John Bongfield lived next door to the Stanbridges. He heard the rows which contined for 2 & 1/2 hours. 1 month hard labour.
