  • Title
    Complaint of Mary Clarke, wife of William Clarke, of Campton. Her husband came home drunk in the afternoon and asked for his breakfast. He wouldn't eat it and hit his wife on the head. He went out and came back later, again asking for his breakfast. He asked for an egg but he would not let her boil one. He already had a summons against him for hitting his wife. She said she would get another one if he hit her again. He hit her again several times. She left the house and did not go back. Costs 20/- and two sureties of £10 each to James Stevens, Labourer and Thomas Stevens of the same place. Clarke was bound over for six months.
