To the high altar for tithes forgotten 16d.; to mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the lights in the church of Leighton 3s. 4d.; to the Brotherhed a quarter of malt which is to be taken out of the loft. "I will that my body (yff god do his will with me) that yt be honestely browght an erth according to the custom and maner of this towne and in lyke maner my month day to be kepte". Testator's son William to pay 4 marks for such moveables he has of the testator Of this money four nobles are to go to a priest to sing a quarter of a year at Leighton, and a priest is to have 6s. 8d. to sing at Stambrege, to pray for the souls of testator and all Christians, and 6s. 8d. is to be used on the highway of the town of Stambrege where testator's executors think most expedient. The residue of the money to be used in meritorious deeds within the next 5 years. Wife Ezabell is to have "iiij xiijs. iiijd." from Symon Haxehed for 20 quarters of malt at the feast of All Hallowes next following the date given above, and she is to have also all household stuff. To her also the rye and barley from the Parsonage Land paying this year's rent for it, and all testator's apparell. In recompense she is to give to testator's executors before next Easter 13s. 4d. to be used for his soul. To his son's 2 children testator's 2 horses, and Thomas to have the better horse. Son and wife are to keep testator's year's mind for as long as either lives. His servant Ezabell Nasshe to have 3s. 4d.. His wife to have half of his logs and his son to have the other half. Residue to his son William for his 4 marks mentioned above, and he to be an executor with Symon Haxehed, and the overseer William Hicman. William Hicman to have a quarter of rye from the parsonage land, and Symon Haxehed a quarter of rye from the Parsonage land. Witnesses sir Mathew, Thomas Freman, Edward Waldocke, Richarde Fylde.
