    Conveyance Parties: (i) William Edward Rogers Freeman of Speedwell, Woburn, gentleman; (ii) William, Duke of Bedford; (iii) Thomas Henry, Baron Foley; Charles Romilly of Wilton Crescent, Belgrove Square [Middlesex], esquire; George Russell of Curzon Street, Mayfair [Middlesex], esquire Reciting: - will of Francis, Duke of Bedford, of 7 May 1861 devising all his real estate to (iii) in trust; - (ii) was tenant for life with power of sale; - (iii) charged with investing sale monies in land; - death of Francis, Duke of Bedford on 14 May 1861 Operative Part: - (i), at request of (ii), conveyed (a)-(e) to (iii) for £3,300 Property [as shown on included plan]: (a) messuage in Corn Market, Woburn formerly called Black [sic White] Lion Inn, now called Wheatsheaf with new erected malthouse adjoining; inn in occupation of Robert Hammond the malthouse Frederick Down; (b) messuage adjoining (a) to N or NE lately used as part of Wheatsheaf, but now a private house and unoccupied (c) orchard or pightle of pasture adjoining formerly in occupation of Robert Hammond and Frederick Emery; (d) close of meadow or sweard in Woburn called Barn Close of three acres in occupation of Robert Hammond except that portion recently sold by (i) to Methodist congregation of Woburn; (e) slip of land from NE to SW measuring 115ft, 21ft wide at NE and 4ft wide at SW and containing 5 poles, formerly part of Corn Close, Woburn purchased by Guardians of Poor of Woburn from Duke of Bedford; (f) messuage in Woburn formerly in occupation of Charles Huggins, deceased, then Thomas Stubbe, then Joseph Porter, deceased, then John Drake, then William Freeman, now Frederick Emery, with stables, brewhouse and loft, pump, well and office; (g) messuage formerly in occupation of Thomas Frazier, then Widow Frazier, then George Cecil, then John Drake, then Thomas Heighington, now William Heighington; (h) room formerly used by Clerk of Woburn Market then used as a parlour to (f) except cellar and back room forming part of (i) and (j); - (f)-(h) were conveyed to William Freeman, deceased (father of (i)) on 30-31 Mar 1821 by John Drake and devised by William Freeman to (i) in his will of 30 Dec 1851; (i) cellar under and at back of (h) formerly in occupation of Thomas Heighington, now William Heighington and adjoining Back Lane; (j) back room of (h), formerly used as a parlour in occupation of William Heighington running parallel with former copyhold room, both of which used to form one room, then converted by Christopher Jaques as a grocer's shop, since in occupation of Joseph Smith, pork butcher, now William Heighington; (k) cottage in Back Lane, Woburn, formerly called the Tavern in occupation of Christopher Jaques, which building was pulled down and rebuilt as a warehouse in 1861, now in occupation of Frederick Emery; (l) small piece of land (formerly part of yard of (k)), afterwards used as part of a messuage in occupation of Philip Elen; adjoining (k); width from corner of warehouse next to a stable in yard formerly in occupation of Philip Elen extending into yard 6ft and from there in a line to corner of wall leading to gateway leaving space in corner of staircase and wall built by John Drake 1ft, being 23ft long; (m) room, formerly copyhold of Manor of Woburn Abbotts, fronting Market Hill, Woburn, formerly used with (j) as grocer's shop, then a pork butcher's shop, now in occupation of William Heighington; - (i)-(m) conveyed and covenanted to be surrendered to William Freeman by John Drake on 8-9 Feb 1825 and devised to (i) in will of William Freeman; (i) obtaining enfranchisement of (m) on 1 Dec 1863 Habendum: - to (iii) to use of (iii) upon trusts Witnesses: - George Castleden, freeholder of George Street, Woburn; - Thomas T.Wing of Bedford Estate Office Endorsed with memorandum of conveyance of 19 Feb 1937 from Herbrand, 11th Duke of Bedford and his trustees Victor Alexander Frederick Villiers Russell, Angus Chambers Lyell and Owen Johnston Humbert to Postmaster General of 113 square yards in Woburn
