- Scope and ContentHis soul to God, the Virgin Mary and the blessed company in heaven, and his burial in Stevengton churchyard. To the mother church of Lyncolne 2d.; to the high altar of Stevengton 12d.; to the bells 12d.; to the torches 12d.. To his wife Margery and to his son Edward and Edward's issue the house where testator dwells with all lands, meadows, pastures and feedings belonging to it in the lordship of Steventon, except for the following legacy to his daughter Alis, which is one acre of land with the house standing on it called Buddys, and a cow and 40s.. Wife Margery is to have the profit of the legacy to Alis until the day of the daughter's marriage. Should the daughter die before she is married, then the property to go to son Edward. The property left to Edward to go to wife Margery for the term of her life, and she is to pay to Edward £10 at the age of 21. If necessary, his wife can sell eleven acres of land: ... 3 acres lying beyong Bery Layes ... l acre butting on Bydlayes ... 1 acre of "Goyres" lying on Longe Tagge ... 5 roods lying between Haynis Woodde and Pyxkshylle ... l rood on the same furlong butting on the Longe hegge ... 3 ½ acres of one piece abutting on Woodlonde ... 4 lands of the same furlong butting on Pyxkyshylle Green called one acre. Residue to his wife. Executors his wife and Robert Pake (to whom 5s.) with sir George Butman, vicar and testator's ghostly father, as supervisor, he to have 6s..
