    "Furst I bequeth my Soull to Allmeghty God and to the glorious virgen sanct Mary and to all the holy compeny of heven" and burial in the churchyard of All Sanctes in Houghton. For tithes forgotten 2d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 1d.; half a quarter of malt to be given to the poor people of the parish of Howghton. To Eme Mell a smock; to Alys Whytaker a red kirtle "that I were on holydays"; to the hogherd's wife a white petticoat; to Jone Lynsey a weekday apron; to Bennet of Tyllysworth half a bushel of malt; to Agnes Reyner half a bushel of malt; to John Totnell a peck of malt. To testator's daughter Margret Carter a cupboard standing in the hall, the best brass pan, the trivet, a spit and a "coppyd" latten basin, testator's best kirtle and petticoat, a skillet, a little brass pot. To Jone Carter the biggest brass pot, the great caldron, 2 pewter platters and 2 saucers, a pair of sheets, a little coffer, a green coverlet, a pillow and a candlestick. To John Carter a cow that is at his father's and 2 pewter platters, 2 sheep and a little table with an ambry under it, a quarter of malt, a brass pot (next to the best), a candlestick, a pillow and a coffer. To Agnes Carter a little kettle, a sheep and a pewter platter and a salt cellar. To Robert Carter and Henry to each of them a sheep. To Elezabeth Carter a sheep and a pewter platter. To Thomas Carter and to Richard to each of them a sheep. To her son Robert Barne a table, a chair and a form, a laver, a pair of andirons, and a chafing dish. To Elene Barne a little kettle. To John Barne a posnet with a handle, testator's best coffer, and the younger cow. To Agnes Barne a cow that is at Stryngars, testator's shallow latten basin, a pewter platter, a double coverlet and a pan. To Robert Barne the younger and to William a quarter of malt to each of them. To William Carter a quarter of malt. Residue to Robert Barne first to pay debts and legacies, and what remains to be divided equally between Robert Barne and Mergret Carter. Executors Robert Barne and William Strange with Thomas Ympey supervisor, each to have 3s. 4d. for their work Witnesses sir John Cowper schoolmaster, Thomas Carter and Richard Ympey.
