  • Scope and Content
    "Furste my soull commende to the marcy of Allmeghty God" and burial in churchyard of Shitlington. The sum of £13 6s. 8d. which her son William Colman is bound to pay for testator's house in Aspeley is to be divided equally between testator's daughters Agnes and Alys. To daughter Alys 3 acres of wheat and to Velentyne the other 3 acres. When testator's tilth is sown and the charges for this deducted and rents and debts paid, what is left it to be divided into two parts. The first part is to go to Voluntyne, and the other half to be divided between her other 4 children, of whom William is to be one "so that he will not troble with them for it except 2 Acars wiche I geve and bequeth to Mary and Cristopher Clarke" Her two beasts are to go to Alys and Volentyne, and her brass and pewter to be divided between Voluntyn and Alys. Of her three featherbeds with what goes with them one is to go to Voluntyn (the first choice), the second to Alys, and the third to Marke. Voluntyne is to have his father's gown, Alys is to have testator's best gown, and Agnes testator's other gown. Testator's piece of woollen at the weaver's is to go to Alys and Volentyne. To Alys the coffer that the wool lies in, and Voluntyne the coffer at the bed's head, and the third coffer to Alys. The best cupboard to Alys and the second best to Voluntyne. The best pair of cobirons to Alys and the other pair to Voluntyne. Residue to be divided between all her children. Executors to be Henry Clarke and Voluntyne Threder. Witnesses John North and his wife, John Ventres and Edward Fylde.
